Privacy Policy
Your journal is a private place. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and the control you keep over it.
The short version
Your entries belong to you. We keep as little information as we can, we encrypt what you write, and we never sell your writing or use it to train public AI models. Wherever a simpler, more private option exists, that is the one we choose.
What we collect
Your account details
To create your space we need an email address and a name to greet you by. That is the core of it. We do not ask for information we do not need to run the service.
What you write
Your journal entries, prompts you respond to, and any mood signals drawn from your writing are stored so the service can show them back to you. These are encrypted, and they are treated as some of the most sensitive information we hold.
Basic technical information
Like most services, we record limited technical details needed to keep things running and secure, such as the type of device you use and occasional error reports. We keep this minimal and separate from the content of your journal.
How we use what we collect
- To let you write, revisit, and reflect on your entries
- To generate The Quiet Line and gentle observations from your own writing
- To keep your account secure and to provide support when you ask for it
- To understand, in aggregate and without reading your entries, whether the service is working well
What we will never do
- Sell, rent, or trade your journal entries or personal information
- Use your writing to train public or third-party AI models
- Show you advertising or hand your data to advertisers
- Read your entries out of curiosity - access is restricted and logged
Reflections and AI processing
To respond to your writing and surface gentle patterns, your entries are processed by the service. This processing exists only to give something back to you. The output is yours, the input stays private, and none of it becomes training material for models used by anyone else.
Your controls
- Export a full copy of your writing whenever you like
- Delete individual entries, or erase your entire account for good
- Turn off pattern surfacing if you would rather simply write
- Ask us what we hold about you, and request that we correct it
How long we keep things
We keep your entries for as long as your account is open, because that is the point of a journal. When you delete an entry or close your account, we remove the associated content from active systems and from backups within a reasonable period.
Keeping your writing safe
Entries are encrypted, access is tightly limited, and we design our systems to reduce how much sensitive information is ever exposed. No service can promise perfect security, but privacy is a first-order concern here, not an afterthought.
A note on younger writers
SWAMANT is intended for adults. It is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for people below the age of majority in their region.
This is a reflection tool, not medical care
Information you write or receive here is for personal reflection. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you need support beyond writing, please see getting more support.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want to exercise any of the controls above, please get in touch. A real person will help.
